Getting Started in Dermatology Nursing

john-redbond

Dermatology is an area Veterinary Nurses can make a real and tangible difference in veterinary practice - not only to the patient outcome and therefore the owner, but also to the benefit of the vets in time and the practice in financial terms. In this webinar John takes a look at how nurses can help, focusing in on cytology as a way of nurses getting involved in dermatology and showing how to do this. He then looks at the common dermatology conditions nurses will encounter in practice and takes a brief look at how practically nurses can help with these. Finally, John looks at what nurses can and can’t do in practice to reassure that they can be involved in supporting cases without going against the code of conduct, before finishing off by talking about the benefits and methods of taking pictures in dermatology. This webinar and the VNDG generally is made possible by the sponsorship of Vetruus, specialists in veterinary dermatology with a long history in the veterinary industry, providing innovative, high quality products which nurses can also dispense. Through their sponsorship of the VNDG and Vet Nurse Merit Award in Dermatology Vetruus are committed to supporting nurses in dermatology.
