How to recognise if your pet has allergy?

Allergy is a very common disease in animals, with 1 out of 5 pets suffering with allergy.

Unfortunately many of them are not diagnosed and treated as symptoms can be mistaken as behavioural acts.

The most common symptom of allergy is an itchy skin, which can lead to:

  • Scratching, biting and chewing of the skin
  • Excessive paw licking
  • Excessive face rubbing
  • Excessive grooming
  • Hair loss
  • Recurrent ear or skin infections
  • Vomiting and diarrhoea, especially in cases of food allergy.
  • Watery eyes, sneezing and coughing occasionally

The usual locations of the itching skin are the belly, armpits, feet, base of the tail and face, especially around the eyes, mouth and ears.
