Managing Clinical Cases in Practice: Canine Atopic Dermatitis (and how bugs can help)

This webinar will be divided into three sections: 1) An introduction on canine atopic dermatitis and its similarities to the human counterpart; 2) A review on the use of beneficial bacteria for atopic dermatitis in humans; 3) A review of the use of beneficial bacteria for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in dogs. This last section will be concluded with a synopsis of a clinical trial using beneficial bacteria recently completed in dogs. This lecture will highlight the importance of beneficial bacteria in the pathophysiology and treatment of atopic dermatitis. The goal of this lecture is to make practitioners aware of new studies on the use of bacteria as an alternative way to manage atopic dogs.
