The Stress and Burnout Epidemic Facing Vets: Top Tips and Evidence Based Coping Strategies to Help You Survive and Thrive
Dr. Donna Rodil, DClinPsy, PhD, CPsychol, founder of RAW (Resilience at Work) Mental Health,
Dr Donna Rodil is the founder of RAW (Resilience at Work) Mental Health, an organisation that offers CPD training and workshops on mental health and wellbeing for veterinary professionals. She is also currently working as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist for the Midlands Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. Her clinical expertise is on adult mental health, in particular, early psychosis, and complex and enduring mental health problems. Prior to gaining her second doctorate and qualifying as a clinician, she worked as an academic for a number of years. She completed a PhD in Psychology at the University of Birmingham, investigating suicidal thinking mechanisms in early psychosis. Following her PhD, she worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in addictions research and managed a clinical trial for the drug and alcohol service in Birmingham. In 2018, she conducted a cross-sectional study on resilience to burnout in vets which she is hoping to publish before the end of this year.
A growing number of studies are reporting high rates of stress, burnout and suicide in the veterinary profession. Nevertheless, there continues to be a lack of evidence-based intervention strategies to help address these important issues. This webinar will look at evidence-based approaches used by Clinical Psychologists to identify, manage and overcome stress and burnout.
